What is Der Fall Lucona about?
Based on a true story. The Lucona was a ship that sank in the Indian Ocean in 1977. Allegedly, the steamer had a uranium factory on board. And there was a man sitting at home in Vienna, waiting for big bucks. The sinking of the Lucona was a long-planned insurance scam and became the biggest scandal in Austria's post-war history, as high-profile managers, mafiosi and ministers were involved in the case. It blends drama elements. The film reflects a distinct Germany style and perspective. The story is brought to life by director Jack Gold.
