What is Dynamics about?
This work was part of my M.S. thesis Perceptual correspondences of abstract animation and synthetic sound developed at the MIT Media Lab in 1988. It is primarily a 3D visualization of synthetic sounds based on four types of audiovisual correspondences: spatial coincidence, temporal coincidence , volume/brightness, timbre/shape-color. Once created, the abstract objects, and consequently the sounds associated with them, were used to compose the audiovisual work. The film reflects a distinct Italy style and perspective. The story is brought to life by director Adriano Abbado. With a runtime of 4 minutes, it offers a concise viewing experience.
