What is Katips about?
In the midst of uncertainty, there's no other passion that can pull us back to freedom but the burning fire that hides within each of us. A musical-drama film about the struggles of common people who became victims of Martial Law in the '70s. Based on the 2016 musical play of the same name, Katips is a tale of the young, in their fight for their ideals, how big can one get against a force too much bigger than yourself. It blends music, drama elements. The film reflects a distinct Philippines style and perspective. The story is brought to life by director Vince Tañada. With a runtime of 2h 22m, it offers a comfortable feature-length experience.
