Judge Granger, a candidate for mayor, attempts to persuade Mary Allen Sayre to marry him. She meets his double, a young traveling salesman named Jimmy Gallop, mistaking him for the judge. Granger’s opponents bribe Jimmy to impersonate the judge in public while they kidnap the magistrate almost wrecking his chances of election and nearly getting Gallop murdered.
