What is Phantom Pains about?
Documentary. Before her death, with her legs amputated and a violent cancer gnawing at her body, my grandmother suffered from severe phantom pains. The charismatic and talented woman became, after the loss of her family, and especially her son, in the Holocaust – a survivor, vengeful and dark. In a personal journey to understand why she is still so present in our lives, I discover not only her story, but also the stories of the women who came after her. The story is brought to life by director Tamar Komem. With a runtime of 28 minutes, it offers a concise viewing experience.
