What is Roots about?
Roots explores themes of home, displacement and cultural identity through the process of interweaving personal memory and animation. The film coalesces fragments of different conversations I’ve recorded with my mother as an attempt to understand more about my parent's culture and address questions I have increasingly become intrigued by as I have got older. It blends animation elements. The film reflects a distinct United Kingdom style and perspective. The story is brought to life by director Stephanie Anjo. With a runtime of 4 minutes, it offers a concise viewing experience.
