What is The Missing Post Office about?
Japan's Missing Post Office, Yokogao Magazine,The Missing Post Office, Katsuhisa Nakata. A short documentary shot by Clément Lefer and set on Awashima Kagawa in Japan where an out-of-time post office welcomes letters that will never be delivered. In the Seto Inland Sea, the abandoned post office of Awashima was transformed by artist Saya Kubota into a sanctuary for undelivered letters, sent to the lost, the dead, or no one at all. At 91, postmaster Katsuhisa Nakata continues to care for these fragments of memory. The Missing Post Office is a quiet, cinematic meditation on time, absence, and the emotional weight of words that may never be read. The story is brought to life by director Clément Lefer. With a runtime of 9 minutes, it offers a concise viewing experience.
